No. However we do acknowledge the importance of campaign groups on helping parents’ voices to be heard. We are happy to work with campaign groups by signposting them to information and feeding back the issues they raise.
We promote parent carer voices through participation and coproduction. We sit on strategic groups and attend meetings with statutory organisations. We run our “Tell us your story” drop in sessions and where possible facilitate training/focus groups based on current demand. We hold an annual conference where we tailor a full day to the needs of the parent carers of Darlington based upon the feedback we receive from our members.
A parent carer forum is a group of parents and carers of children with additional needs and/ or disabilities who work with local authorities, education settings, health providers.
